Natural History, Adventure Cruises

ship   Come cruise with us for a customized and personal adventure aboard the Auklet and let us share over 30 years of experience in and around Prince William Sound with you.

Our multi-day trips, primarily 3-7 days, cruise between the most spectacular glacier country imaginable and the many islands and inlets of the Chugach National Forest, the world's northern most temperate rain forest.
mountians, paddling

Prince William Sound is a dynamic geological region with glaciers advancing, plowing over the forests in their way with others hanging quietly in the mountain valleys and still others in catastrophic retreat, exposing new land and water while calving ice into the marine waters of Prince William Sound.

hiking
A fascinating layering of rock formations make up this northern arch of the Pacific rim. From black volcanic rock to near white granite reminiscent of Yosemite Valley. Only here the glaciers are still active and the crowds are absent.

playing with glaciers
Prince William Sound is the northern most temperate rain forest in the world made up of a variety of habitats including ancient old-growth forests, glacier regions exceeding those of Glacier Bay and Kenai Fjords National Parks combined, wildflower filled coastal muskeg meadows, barren land recently released from the grip of retreating glaciers and miles of intricate shoreline rich with marine life.

Mammals often seen include Sea Otter, Steller Sea Lion, Dall Porpoise, Black and Brown Bear, Humpback and Orca Whales.
