Living here for over 30 years we bring real experiences to our interpreting the varied aspects of Prince William Sound.

Owner/operator, David Janka has been working with research projects, environmental issues and living close to the natural world of Prince William Sound for over 30 years. A multi-disciplined naturalist, David is able to interpret the natural world in an easy to understand manner based on real experience and his extensive resource library aboard the Auklet.

We have been running the Auklet since 1992 and started Auklet Charter Services in 1995.

Our working backgrounds also include scientific research and environmental work, salmon hatcheries, remote field operations, photography, theater, music and recreation.

Auklet Charter Services is a State of Alaska, City of Cordova, Whittier and Valdez licensed business.

We hold a special use permit with the U.S. Forest Service for guided hiking within the Chugach National Forest and a commercial use permit with the State of Alaska for activities within the Prince William Sound State Marine Parks.
